long overdue

11th July 2008, Friday, Last Day of Internship

Camwhoring on the last day of work in the conference room, just before we left at 5pm, before the irritating boss came in to make us fill up some evaluation form. I can't believe I actually filled it up with 100% honesty. I really can't believe I did that 'cause it was really a very negative one. I got to admit I wasn't really thinking too hard while filling up the form so I think I could have just come across as tactless. But really, I don't care. Like what the boss said, "I don't think there will be a next time." True enough, I don't think I'll want to have a next time. Even looking at the emails with PTS 2009 as the subject title makes me kind of pissed. Unsurprisingly, I don't miss the place at all. NOT AT ALL. Maybe I do miss the bubble tea and jollybean and hey! I do miss this bugger.

The LRT train in Sengkang. I, then later the rest, call it the bugger because I think it looks irritating. Don't you think so? Hurhur! Even though I see it all the time, I've never thought it is THIS irritating until I took it everyday for 3 weeks. I actually do miss the bugger.
12th July, 2008, Satuday, Jac's Back!

yay yay! Jac's back! One more amies is back! Amies will not be one complete 7 until like next June/July. How sad is this! But at least Jac is back now so we only have 1 missing beaver.. Anyways, Ferly and I went to chope place early despite making a reservation since Cafe Iguana doesn't allow reservations after 7pm. But it was good since we managed to watch a little bit of the National Day Parade and drink the very yummy peach and mango margarita. Really, NDP is good. Love Singapore, people! And heh. We saw some fireworks too. Coolness! (from jac!) And I love Jac's present for me!

13th July 2008, Sunday, Pulau Ubin Celebrations

On the way on bus 109. Mark with his friend's $1,200 SLR camera. Seriously, the colour and everything else is much nicer. Just that we really had to try to take more professional shots with such a professional camera. It was quite hard and so I took out my slow Nikon coolpix at some point. And please check out the pancake that made me feel like puking after cycling for just about 30 minutes. PATHETIC. To think I was so happy after the buy. EEEYERRR!

On the bumboat! They increased it from $2 to $2.50. It's inevitable but I can't believe it. The bumboat ride remains fun. I like it. When Mark was taking pictures of the hills, I suddenly thought of felily. She said to me in one of those bumboats long time back when we just got back from OCIP, "these mountains are nothing compared to those we saw in China." Yes, it's true. The mountains we saw everyday in China were really magnificent. Actually at that time, I didn't think they were that great. I just wanted to be home. I didn't want to empty trash, cook, wash my own clothes anymore.

In Chek Jawa. The Chek Jawa Hut, where I felt like puking, the 7-storey high tower, where you can, apparently, see eagles and stuff, but sorry. Third time I'm there but I didn't see anything.

The bike-pushers on an upslope. The P.I. for the crabs who is scared of mudskippers. I think the mudskippers look disgusting too. Especially the tiny ones. They look like lizards. We actually took more than an hour staring at all these wildlife. The crabs are especially interesting. They just kept on waving and waving and waving at us. They looked so friendly I tell you. Cool people. And the last picture actually shows a komodo dragon swimming! Before we even reached pulau ubin, they were just laughing at me over some old joke about me and the komodo in Sentosa. I told them komodos can swim la. They didn't believe me.

Satisfying cycling. I really love cycling. It's fun! And I finally got to eat the Indonesian Riverside Restaurant. First time I think that bean sprouts are nicer than stingrays la. Time to pester my father to bring us to adam road for dinner. Yippeee!! I love stingrays! Although one if its kind stung the croc hunter to death, I'll still eat it. Or maybe I should eat more, eh?
And we took more than 600 photos for this pulau ubin trip. I think the Mes Amies needs to buck up.

15th July 2008, Sunday, The Futuristic Past

We had a lot of fun with our Companion for the day. It is like the one the KL Tower uses just that maybe this machine is green and seems newer. The companion is kinda interesting 'cause you can press numbers numbers and the different descriptions will come out. A very futuristic journey to the past. I didn't know museums can be this fun! There were so many things to look at. So many that even your curiosity will die out after some time. Maybe we should go again next time so I'll look at the things I skipped or didn't manage to see since one part of the museum kinda closes early. Very enriching trip and seriously all NUS students should just go since it is freeeee...

All activites aside, I cannot believe my almighty mickey mouse pen is only $1.

//2142 on 1st August; you just wait
