virus

Ugh! I honestly feel that those who had been to the Influenza A affected areas should really be more socially responsible by staying at home, reducing contact with others, getting themselves an ambulance when they know they are not too alright, or maybe just staying wherever they are and making sure they are fine before moving elsewhere! By infecting others, these people can be said to be terrorists, okay! How do they know they are fine just because it was only a cough or sore throat. YOU HAD BEEN TO THE AFFECTED AREAS, yo! Get yourself an ambulance and not affect others! Because if this virus spreads to the community, I cannot imagine how that silly act could add on to the pathetic-ness of patients in hospitals. I'm saying this because I had some kind of "first-hand" experience when my father was hospitalised a couple of weeks ago and it was so baddddd...

Although my father just had to get his inflamed gall bladder out of his body, it was enough to scare the crap out of anyone of us at home. You could say it was just a small operation with nothing complicated but it was as though the sky was crashing. Not to mention many others who were hospitalised for more serious reasons. While I'm so glad that the emotional ride for all of us is over and that my father is back at home being his usual jovial selffff already, I can't help but think about the many other patients whose family members are still fighting with the "bouncers" downstairs because they just want to visit their love ones. It was such a pathetic sight to see the "bouncers" acting so nonchalantly about whatever these worried family members had to say just because it was 2 minutes before the visiting hours. Yes, I cannot blame them for they are just doing their jobs and probably being responsible socially, but I feel they can do with much more compassion. It is not to say that the hospital should stop all the screening and allow all family members or even friends to visit the patients, however, more could be done to let these concerned family members visit the poor patient who is lying on the hospital bed just as long as these family members are not being nuisances.

Imagine if your dearest grandpa is lying on the hospital bed but only 2 out of the 4 authorised visitors are allowed to visit him at a time and because you have so many aunties and uncles, there is no chance that you could visit him even though you are his dearest grandchild (Sorry about the favouritism here!). Then, very unfortunately, the grandpa passes away in the middle of the night and sorry, you didn't manage to see him at all. How now?

All I can hope is that people can be more socially responsible and be nice community members by taking really good care of themselves and not be so selfish about anything else except for themselves because one silly act could affect a whole lot of people directly and indirectly.
After all the saga, everyone could then give everyone else a pat on the back for being good. We should all do that once everyone in the big fat world is fine and maybe exclude the terrorists.
